Meditation #3
Endtime Suffering Saints
May 3, 2002
Jesus gave the Parable of the Nobleman going to a far country because the Disciples expected the Kingdom to "come at any time ... immediately." Luke 19:11. His last words to them totally dispelled that idea. They were not to be concerned with times or seasons. Acts 1:7. We won’t know the End is Near until we know the Endtime has begun! Matt.24:33.
Times and seasons are confined to 1260 days. The Lastday will occur in the days immediately thereafter. The salvation message of God's Kingdom Power comes through His Two Prophets. During these last 1260 days, plus up to 3½ days, Saints display a sure hope to the End for their salvation to be revealed when Christ appears in glory. I Pet.1:5,7,13.
Jesus had Endtime Saints in mind for knowing when He is "about to come in glory." Matt.16:27. Knowing the Endtime has begun, they overcome and keep His works to the End. Rev.2:25-27. They are kept from the Hour of Trial. Rev.3:10. Saints who survive to the End will sit on earthly thrones reigning with Christ. Martyrs will sit on thrones in heaven's Temple for 1000 years and serve God day and night. Rev.3:12; Rev.7:15-17; Rev.20:4,5.
Here the Martyrs win the reward promised to the Church in Rev.3:12. Those who survive to the End will be kept from the literal Hour of Testing that Luke says will come "suddenly, like a snare, upon all the inhabitants dwelling on all the face of all the earth." Luke 21:25-35. Suffering Saints will be kept from that Hour. Jesus promised to "raise up every Believer on the last day and to gather the Elect from earth to heaven on *one of the days* after the great tribulation." John 6:38-40,44,54; Mark 13:24-27.
The dead in Christ rise up before survivors are caught up. When Jesus raises and gathers these Elect vertically from earth to heaven, the Tribes of Earth will mourn. Millions will see the Saints appear with Christ as He sends the angels to gather us horizontally from all extremities of the heavens around the globe. Jews will bless the One coming in the Name of the Lord. He raises and gathers the Saints from earth to heaven. Angels gather them from around the globe to the Synagogue in the Sky. Mark 13:27; Matt.24:31; 2 Thess.2:1.
Jesus brings His rewards with Him, for all Believers, at His coming in glory, AFTER the Two Prophets display God's Kingdom Power. Matt.16:27,28; Mark 9:1. Partaking of Christ's sufferings to the End ... they will be filled with joy when His glory is revealed. Compare I Pet.1:13 with I Pet.4:13. Daniel and John couple the final 3½ years of suffering with the period when Believers will love not their life unto death. Many are purged or purified and refined for 1260 days ... then raised up by Jesus and gathered together above by the angels. Dan.12:7,10,11,13; Rev.12:10,11,14; Mark 13:27; Matt.24:31.
This hope cannot be restricted to Pre-Endtime Saints! Endtime signs will correct the misdirected hope that Christ's coming may occur before the Mandate of Mark 9:1 is finished. "Jesus must remain in heaven until the times to restore all things." Acts 3:21. The Two Prophets demonstrate God's Kingdom Power as a specific sign to know the End is Near.
Jesus sent the Twelve to preach the Gospel, in Matt.10, months before announcing His purpose to Build His Church and give His life. In Matt.16 He projected His thoughts to the Endtime when He is about to come in glory. Only in Matt.24 does He give specific signs for knowing His return is Near. Some taste death for up to three days after the Beast kills the Two Prophets. Endtimers will not worry about those who kill the body because God is able to send both the bodies and souls of the wicked to Hell ... beginning with the Beast and False Prophet cast alive into Hell for 1000 years of solitary confinement! Rev.19:20; Rev.20:10.
Jesus did not pray for Endtime Saints to be removed from a world that hates them; but that they will overcome the evil. John 17:14,15. A certain number must be killed to fulfill God's purpose. Some will taste death during the final three days. As the last martyr enters heaven, most of the last 30 of Daniel's 1290 days will be cut short.
A voice out of the Temple, from the Throne, proclaims: "It is Done." At that moment on the Lastday, 100 verses in Revelation will begin to be fulfilled! Overcomers are worthy to be caught up and gathered together unto Jesus Christ.
